Description

It's no fun eating bland food. Whether in a high class restaurant or at home 'a la mama', the same holds true: food should be spiced up. Two excellent flavourers are garlic and ginger. With their unique tastes and a spiciness that can be easily modified, they bring any food to life.

Step by step instructions

  1. Break the garlic bulb by hand. Then, use your fingers to separate out the individual cloves and to remove the outer covering of skin.
  2. Put pressure on the spine of the knife with your fist and press the garlic into the board in such a way that the skin scrunches up.
  3. Then, cut off the end of the clove with a paring knife and pull the skin away from the clove.
  4. Place the clove flat side down on the board and cut into fine strips of about 1mm / 0.03inch. Remember to use the claw grip.
