Description

You can tell fresh scallops by their closed shells. Cultivated scallops are available to enjoy all year around.

Step by step instructions

  1. Slide a paring knife into the shell's opening. Remove the seafood from the top shell and take off the top.
  2. Remove the seafood, coral and innards with a knife. Then, wash the scallop thoroughly and detach the unwanted bits. As a rule, only the white meat is eaten. The orange coral is considered a delicacy and is sometimes used as excellent flavouring.
